Thur 21st March - 10.15am til 1.30pm - NEXT LEVEL DROPS with Katy Curd
This session will be based at the Forest of Dean and is lead by Katy Curd
Forest of Dean cycle centre, New Rd, Cannop, Coleford GL16 7EH
This is a DROPS only focus session and is aimed at riders who have previously completed our Intro to Jumps & Drops course with Katy Curd or similar, this course looks to build on your already solid foundation of skills and helps you gain a further understanding of how to ride different features with different techniques. We will look at how to ride a variety of drops into down slopes and how to maintain balance coming into land. The aim of the session is to help you feel confident and controlled no matter what size feature you are faced with under the expert guidance from Katy Curd in a supportive all female group environment.
We recommend that you have previously done our initial ‘BLUE LEVEL Intro to Jumps & Drops’ or contact us to discuss if this is the course for you.
10.15am - Meet & greet Tribe host and group
10.30am - 1pm - Coached session with Katy
Over the 2.5hr session we will focus on:
BODY POSITION
DROPS - Breakdown different techniques needed for different drops
NON-ROLLABLE DROPS - ride drops into down slopes
TECHNICAL LANDINGS - Know how to land safely and smoothly for complete control
1pm - 1.30pm - After the session we will regroup for a quick coffee or lunch. Those who have time to stay on may wish to then go practice some of those newly learnt skills after lunch.
You need to bring your own MTB suitable for the trails (or hire one). It is your responsibility to make sure it is in good working order for the session and you bring the necessary non-standard tools should you need to repair or adjust it.
